Moscow Domodedovo (DME) Airport General information

Moscow Domodedovo airport is the largest Russian airport in terms of the number of passengers. Domodedovo International Airport flies to 207 domestic and foreign destinations.  Domodedovo Express flights are available to many of the central regions of Russia, the Urals, the Caucasus and Siberia, the Far East, and to other member countries of the CIS, as well as Western Europe, Asia and America.

After reconstruction, Domodedovo Moscow airport became completely updated to accommodate the sharp increase in the passenger flow from the transfer pick up for Moscow Domodedovo traffic and for the improvement in the quality of services. The airport is located 22 km from Moscow and is easily reached by car by traveling along the Kashira highway, then along the Domodedovo airport route. Domodedovo airport transfer is also possible by taxi or riding the bus or electric train leaving from the Paveletskaia railway station in Moscow.

 

Check-in

Domodedovo airport allows you to experience easy check-in services with separate counters for oversize luggage and express check-in for passengers traveling without luggage.

Check-in for international flights begins 2-3 hours before takeoff and domestic flights 1-2 hours prior and ends 40 minutes prior to takeoff. Passengers may check in any time 24 hours prior to departure or retrieve their luggage and visit the duty-free stores. There are also comfortable waiting rooms and other services.

 

Domodedovo airport VIP room

Business class passengers can enjoy Domodedovo airport VIP rooms, equipped with state-of-the-art computer technology and Internet connectivity. There are both smoking and non-smoking lounges. Economy class customers may also make use of the VIP rooms for an additional charge. Business men and women may also use the special services in the Silver Room business hall where they can use fax machines, the Internet and photocopiers. There is a smoking area and places to buy Russian newspapers and enjoy a bountiful buffet.

Separate from these service are those special VIP services which include a conference room, a contemporary business center with office equipment and telephone and Internet communications. Special VIP customers can enjoy a reserved restaurant, duty-free stores and free VIP parking.

 

Airport Services

Domodedovo airport provides a multitude of services, including a luggage storage area, first aid station and a chapel and a mosque for people who wish to worship. For passengers with young children, there is a special room with furniture designed for leisure, places for feeding and changing stations, a restroom, a children's center with toys, swings, felt-tip markers, games, puzzles and places to draw for the children's recreation. Experienced child specialists who entertain and baby-sit children are always on site to ensure the well-being of the children. The public restrooms also offer showers.

People with disabilities can use the special services room without charge. The personnel on hand will meet the passenger at the airport and accompany them through check-in, border and customs control and onto the boarding ramp. Passengers with special needs should arrive three hours prior to departure and will be able to wait in a special comfortable lounge.
Domodedovo airport houses a large commercial complex with more than 90 stores and 50 restaurants, including fast food. Souvenirs, clothing and footwear, perfume, cosmetics, toy, and much more can be bought for last minute needs or gift ideas. There are bank and mail services where you can make a money order or currency exchange.  Internet access is available through Wi-Fi network operations. Internet kiosks, DVD, cinema, and photography are allowed.

 

Parking

Next to the airport is a network of paid parking lots which accommodate up to 5000 automobiles. Temporary parking is allowed for up to 15 minutes, but longer periods require parking in a lot. There are both hourly and daily lots, available for  a fee. For guaranteed parking, it is better to reserve your space in advance.

 

Hotels

The four-star hotel Aerotel is located in the area next to Domodedovo airport. Built in 1978, there are 294 spacious rooms with satellite TV, air conditioning, bathrooms, telephones, and mini-bars. The hotel lodgers can use the services of the restaurant, bar, fitness center and training hall, visit the Finnish sauna and solarium, phyto bar and billiards table. The hotel has a business center with conference halls. The cost of the stay includes a breakfast buffet.
